Life in General
The American Dream
Does The American Dream still exist? Mexicans, Muslims, Vietnamese and other nationalities are said to come to our country seeking The American Dream. What is The American Dream? Is it owning your own house, an expensive car or some other material possession. Is it being able to afford whatever you want to buy. Is it getting rich with more money in the bank then you can spend. No! These are the rewards of the American Dream. The American Dream as our nation's founders and forefathers knew it was Freedom. Freedom to be as successful as our abilities, drive, and willingness to work hard would carry us. Not dependant upon some King, Ayatollah or other form of government to tell us how we should lead our lives. The American Dreaam is not something material it is a concept a concept of individual accountability and the freedom to take yourself as far as you are willing to put forth the effort to go. It isn't what can the government do for me but what can I do for myself without government interferance. It isn't being on welfare and saying I am willing to be poor all my life. It's saying I am better then that and I am willing to prove it. I will work, I will go to school and even learn. I will be an asset I will be something of value to myself and to other individuals. I will succeed to the best of my abilities and I will develop those abilities to their fullest potential. I will have selfconfidence and pride in my accomplishments. I will be proud of myself and what I can do.
We don't all have the same abilities.
There aren't that many Bill
Gates in the world.
If you are like most people and odds are you are - you are going to have to work for a living (unless you are willing to remain poor all your life on welfare) until you reach the age of retirement. That age is going up for those born after 1938. When you do retire the odds are that you won't have looked far enough ahead to have put away enough money to live comfortably on then either. Get used to it! I don't owe you a living and neither does anyone else! It's up to you how successful you become. Plan for the future and learn the meaning of delayed gradification. Whatever it is you can't do without today you can have a bigger or better one in the future. So get up everyday and go to work like most everybody else does and be thankful that you have a job.
The world
isn't going to change just because you want it to.
If you want
something out of life you better learn to handle life.
You sure aren't going to change it simply by the way you wear your hair, by the kind of clothes you wear, the number or kind of body piercings or tatoos you have or the kind of music you listen to. Nobody really cares about that after high school. What it takes to get ahead in your life is the same thing that it took to get ahead in my life, your parents life and your grandparents life. The path to success has and always will lead in the same direction. And to travel that path, you must provide something of value that other people are willing to pay for. It's just that simple.
Rid Yourself of the Dishonesty Disease
Mind Created Realities
The Dishonesty Disease
evokes Imaginary Notions that sound good until analyzed. It is a
way of reationalizing inaction or laziness in good sounding excuses.
One example would be that of a person on welfare who says to
him/herself, "The only job I can find is a minimum wage job. I can
make more money then that on welfare, so I might as well stay on
welfare." This justifies inaction in that person's own mind and in
effect also dooms that person to remain in his or her present
situation with little or no hope of rising above it. The only way
to improve a situation is to look for a means of progress not for
excuses to remain stagnate.
This dishonesty to one's self evolves from using feelings or
rationalizations to generate "Mind-Created Realities". I just can't
afford to go to school, I don't have the time, I am too busy. No
one will help me. (All excuses for inaction) The mind that
ultimately evolves from the Dishonesty Disease is expressed by the
attitude of laziness. I will tell myself that I am stuck in my
present condition, even though I am not. It is easier to create
reasons not to act then it is to act. The more mysticism and
dishonesty clog a persons mind, the more narrowly restricted becomes
that persons mind. Thus, such a mind becomes short-range in thinking
and perspective as each default makes a person more and more
susceptible to future rationalizations. Rid yourself of mysticism
and you emmediately gain unlimited advantages over everyone still
afflicted with that disease. Express your mind in the attitude of
EFFORT: "I will progress through my own productive efforts, I must
competitively create and produce values wanted and needed by others."
Only then will you have an opportunity to to succeed and maybe even
become another Bill Gates.
Don't just keep trying the same thing over and over
hoping for
different results.
Too many people, when they don't want to do what really needs to be done end up trying what only amounts to a different version of the same old thing again and again. If you want different results you have to be willing to do what it takes to get different results. If you don't want things to change just keep doing the same thing you have been doing. The results will be the same. If you want change, first figure out what needs to be done to accomplish it. Then do it!
How you spend your money is just as important if not more so
then
how much you make.
If I asked you to list your assets would you list your car, your house, your boat, etc. Most people would. But, assets make you money. Assets don't take money out of your pocket, they put money in your pocket. Your car, house and boat if you have one are liabilities, they cost you money. CD's, Stocks and Bonds, and interest bearing savings accounts are assets. They earn you money. That is called residual income. You make money today off the work you did yesterday to earn that money. Learn to recognize the difference between assets and liabilities.

Making Other People Rich
Become Your Own Bank
Open up a bank account and put money in it on regular basis. Build that account until you can finance the purchase of a TV set, washer or drier etc. from your own account without having to finance or borrow the money to do so. Then pay back your own account with interest just as you would a bank or finance company. In so doing you can become your own bank for even bigger purchases.
And guess what cuss words aren't a new invention.
The first
cuss words probably orginated with Adam when Eve had her first
headache.
It won't do any good to cuss the government, the world, your parents or even yourself that is just the way life is. So, you aren't going to shock anyone by using words that we've all heard many times before. The only thing you are going to do is display the lack of a civil vocabulary. Learn to state your feelings in a more civilized intellectual way. Nobody cares how dumb you are so don't try to convince them of it.
The Bigger Questions of Life
What am I? Who am I? Why am I here? What is my purpose?
We have all heard others and even ourselves say I just need some time,
some time to find myself, some time to get to know who and what I am,
time to discover my purpose in life.
Is there a purpose for each individual, a separate purpose for the existence
of each and everyone on earth or one purpose for all of us as a whole?
If each individual has a unique purpose for being here there sure must be a lot
of needs and purposes on this earth. There must be millions of flaws in our
existence, flaws we haven't as yet discovered, flaws we never will discover.
We are here therefore we are worthy.
The one thing we need to realize in each of our lives is that we are all
worthy, worthy of being here, worthy of existence, We all have the potential
to leave this world a better place then it was when we came in it. To do that
We don't have to do anything spectacular. We don't have to make a dynamic
contribution to the world. We merely need to leave a small amount of good behind,
As in the race between the tortoise and the hare it is the continued progress of
society in the long run that makes a difference it isn't the sudden bursts and
giant leaps, that provide lasting change for the good. Good needs to be
absorbed into each of us as a whole not just felt and then cast aside.
I live with myself 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year. It doesn't take
that long to truly know who or what I am. This is a misstatement it is a way of
trying to avoid the issue of something I know I should do but do not want to do.
The real question is why do I not want to do whatever it is I don’t want to do.
Asking what is my purpose in life, why am I here is a way of making ourselves feel
more important that others. God’s purpose if he truly exists is to recreate
himself in each of us. That is the sole purpose of mankind and therefore the
purpose of each and every one of us. No one is here for a single spectacular
purpose. No one is here to solve the problems of hunger or crime or war or
peace etc. The one single spectacular purpose for all of us is to be the
recreation of God. There is only one rule that we must follow to do this it
is to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. It isn’t that
complicated it isn’t that hard to understand. Instead of asking what am I,
who am I, why am I here, what is my purpose all we really have to ask is
do I live my life according to the golden rule. Life isn’t that hard to
understand as long as we don’t try to complicate it by looking for excuses.
