Drugs don't make an Addict! Alcohol doesn't make an alcoholic!!
Addicts and Alcoholics are drug abusers.

The key word being abuse, abusers are people that can't handle their own life in general. In MOST cases and this is not to say in all cases for most is not all. Abusers care more about themselves, their own needs and desires and their own problems then about anyone else in their lives. Is that the drugs fault? No! That's the fault of the individual not the fault of the drugs. Their problems are lazyness and/or the attitude that the world owes them. As far as they are concerned it is someone elses fault that they are the way they are. Their only complaint is that nobody wants to help them maintain their lifestyle. The fact is they have been given the opportunity of a free education, have dozens of agencies that they can turn to for help with subsidies for rent, food and medical coverage. Drug abuse is now considered a disease. The first and only disease that the victim doesn't want a cure for. They don't want help to change they want help to sustain their way of life. True help would mean that they would have to care more about someone or something other than themselves. And they might have to find a steady job and go to work every day. No amount of educational rehabilitaion can change that attitude. They first have to want to change. Which usually only happens when they reach rock bottom with no one left to bum off of.

People are going to use drugs for the reasons stated above.
That is a given and is not going to change.

The Real Problem for Soceity is the Fact that some Drugs are Illegal!

Why is the illegality of drugs a problem? It inflates the price and generates a lot of easy cash.. The money it generates is placed in the hands of thugs and murderers and is then used to finance other legal or illegal activities that in turn generate even more money and corruption.

We went through this with Prohibition and the Al Capone era and should have learned from that. Al got rich off of alcohol, gangs sustain their existance on the profits made from drugs. Does our goverenment and lawmakers know this? If they don't they are stupid. I for one have trouble beliveing they are stupid and aren't able to learn from the past. So what is their reasoning for justifing the loss of life associated with drug use enforcement? Morality can not be legislated. In my own mind I can't justify the loss of life of even one innocent bystander or one law enforcement officer in the process of trying to keep addicts from doing what they want to do with their own life. Let's let them worry about their own welfare and we'll worry more about things we can change. Lets quit making their problems our problems. We aren't going to change their faulty attitude toward life by making drugs illegal. Too many innocent people are losing their lives in the process of fighting the so-called war on drugs.

How do you justify the loss of life and the expense of an unwinable war?

Governments want money and power. Most of all power, power to control the way we act, the way we feel and the way we think. The war on drugs gives them another cause on which to spend money and justify high taxation. Taxes to create jobs in law enforcement, to put money in lawyers pockets, to build more jails for incarcerating drug users that will soon be back on the streets doing the same thing all over again. Taxes also subsidise agencies that help alcoholics and drug abusers maintain their lifestyles. The very thing that they pretend to be fighting. The tragedy of it all is the tens of thousands of unwanted children being born to low lifes who care about no one but themselves.
